Work and project in Las Rozas de Madrid

Housing and annex in Las Rozas.

On a sloping terrain, the two built bodies adapt to its topography, respecting and enhancing the small existing oak forest and adapting to it. The exterior environment is preserved, with the existing natural vegetation and soil.

The main body of the house is resolved with two volumes joined by the central hallway, a quiet and intimate area with a double-height living room and study - upper library and another area where the sculpture and painting workshop is housed, also at double height. , the kitchen with dining room connected to the living room, bathroom and bedroom on the ground floor and two bedrooms and bathroom on the upper floor.

The separate annex located in the northern area of the plot - with a guest bedroom and bathroom - enhances the feeling of seclusion within a small forest.

The shape and texture of the building, particularly the roof, connect with the nature that surrounds it with the treetops. Inside the house, the oaks are visually present, the main reason why it was decided to create a curved-vegetable-wavy roof, forming a harmonious ensemble with the exterior. In the cover, supported on the CLT wooden structure seen internally, a 14 cm thick natural cork substrate is arranged, which serves as a thermal and hygrometric transition cushion between the interior and exterior and as a base for the garden roof. .

Due to the insulation system of the envelope, with SATE on the façade and natural cork on the garden roof, -both based on CLT-, a final A energy classification is obtained.
